Climbing a mountain is not as easy as eating peanuts. It is a very rigid and really a very hard challenge. Come to think of it- three hours to four hours of walking going up to radar? At almost 4 kilometers? Whaaaaa!!!! But still, I have faith and hope, I have the courage, I have the confidence, and I believe IN myself and see??? I make it. I was able to go up, climb up the mountain going to Radar. And I'm very, very, very proud of myself.I did the greatest achievement in my high school life and even in my whole life. I will cherish and surely I will not forget this experience of mine.
August 31, 2008- it was the day when we went to Radar. On this day, I really woke up early just to get to the school early because the departure of the bus will be 6:30 a.m. Upon arrival to school, I have seen the bus that we will be going to ride on and the excitement in my heart grew. On our way through Radar, I was again excited. My smile seems to reach my ears or even the back of my head. While walking, I learned that cooperation and companion is what badly needed in this kind of journey. Come to think of this- going up to Radar without a companion? It's really hard because you can't express your feelings of happiness, enjoyment and amazement. While walking, I can't help seeing the beautiful view of our own province, Ilocos Sur. Wow! It's really amazing! The problem that I'd encountered is that I did not have enough rest. Because one of my companions, a guy, doesn't want us to rest for a long time. How I was dismayed? And he is also very talkative. But thanks to God, without any damage I successfully climb up the mountain going up to Radar. I was able to climb up even though I am very, very, very much tired. When we are already there, I directly took a sit and even lied on the grass. If I was not mistaken it's almost 10:00 when we arrived at the top. When my classmates and friends had already arrived, we ate our lunch together. All sat on the grass and under the sun. At about 1:00- 2:00 in the afternoon, we decided to go down from the mountain because it seems that a rain is coming. Oh! how I wish it would happen again? I'm happy in my experience: for one- I successfully climb up the mountain going to Radar, an experience that not everybody can do, and for two- I went there together with my friends.
I already given off my footprints there so, I believe that no one could ever erase that. For me, I already consider myself great and my feet do make me great.
